All of our Y3 children had a fantastic visit to Segedunum this week to finish their topic on The Romans. This was a brilliant opportunity as children were able to experience what life was like as a Roman soldier, how ordinary people would live, clothes of that time, food, home life and so much more.
Great fun was had by all! Click here to see some of the highlights.
Over the next few months reception will be having visitors and going exploring into the community to complete a topic about people who help us.

Thirty of our singers joined over 240 pupils from eight other South Tyneside primary schools for a concert in Durham Cathedral. The event marked the finale of a term’s work with the Cathedral’s very successful Music Outreach programme, during which, visits from tutor Ana Fernandez Guerra helped the children polish up their performance skills. We were extremely proud of their contribution to the performance. They did us all proud!
As part of the project, all of our seventy choir members worked extremely hard to learn a wide range of songs by heart and the whole choir will be performing these and other favourites for their family and friends at their final rehearsal on Tuesday 4th April at 3:45pm
Well done to the Y5/6 Netballers. Both our A and B team won previous competitions to be able to represent South Tyneside at a regional heat at the Tyne and Wear High 5 Finals.
Both teams played brilliantly and the A team came 5th out of 15 schools.
Here are some lovely photos from 2KB class assembly. The theme was recycling.
Children in Y5 enjoy a term each with the talented drumming teaching, Mr Bird. 5SK have just completed an eleven week programme of study where they have been learning to play samba batucada – a simple rhythm comprising of an opening break, main rhythm, which is broken into a cha cha break.
Every child has had the opportunity to play a wide variety of percussion instruments including surdos, snare drums, repinique, tambourine, agogo bell and ganza.
Have a listen to their fabulous work.
