Applying for nursery

You can apply for a place for your child by calling into the main office the month that your child turns two. You simply need to bring your child’s birth certificate and proof of your address.

You can make an appointment to view the nursery before applying by calling the school.

Applying for a reception place

Parents must apply for a place at our school by filing a Parental Preference Form, these are available from South Tyneside Council.

After completing Parental Preference Forms, children are admitted to our Reception class if they are four years old before 31st August.  They can then be admitted to our Reception classes in September, after an informal parent interview.

All entrants to our classes will be given the chance to visit the school and meet their teacher and the other children.  Meetings for parents are held in the summer term.  In order to make a smooth transition from part time nursery to full time reception class, the new intake attend part time for the first two weeks after the parent interviews.

Friday 10 September 2021, 8.30am Applications are available. We recommend that you apply online.
Monday 17 January 2022, 4.30pm Deadline date for applications to be received. Any applications received after this date will be considered as ‘late’ applications.


Online system is not available after the deadline date.

By the end of February 2022 All parents who have completed and returned their application will be send an acknowledgement to confirm that we have received and are processing their application.


If you applied online, you will receive an acknowledgement to your email account.


If you completed a paper application, you will be sent an acknowledgement letter through the post.

Tuesday 19 April 2022 ‘Offer Day’ – Parents will be notified which school their child has been offered.

If you applied online, you will be notified by email.

If you completed a paper application, a letter will be sent to you by 2nd class post.

Tuesday 26 April 2022 Deadline for parents to:

  • accept the school place offered (for oversubscribed schools only)
  • request to place their child’s name on a waiting list
  • request an appeal form for primary schools
Wednesday 27 April 2022 Appeal forms sent out where requested.
Thursday 28 April 2022


Any places that have become available will be allocated from the waiting list in criteria order.
Thursday 5 May 2022 Where parents have not accepted the school place offered for oversubscribed schools, we will withdraw the offer of the school place (community schools only).
Tuesday 24 May 2022 Deadline for appeal forms to be returned.
June-July 2022
