Update 5.6.20 Latest Phase One Opening

5th June 2020Mr Bennett

Update 5.6.20

Latest Phase One Opening

Dear all,
thank you for all of your support over the past weeks and months. We know it hasn’t been easy for anyone. You continue to do your best at home with your children and that is all anyone can ask.
Following meetings with teachers, governors and the local authority we are proposing that our Phase One Plan will start with wider opening to years Nursery, Reception, Year One and Year Six from Monday 15th June.
Preparations are fully underway to ready the site and for staff to welcome back some pupils.
We will confirm this opening date and any updates to our plan as early as possible next week but please plan for this date.
Next week we will be open for Key Worker families only. (Mon 8th – Fri 12th)
Stay safe everyone!

Other Updates

Help – there is a dedicated helpline number for education and children’s social care related queries for anyone working in early years through to universities, plus parents – 0800 046 8687 – 8am to 6pm (Monday to Friday) or 10am to 4pm (Saturday to Sunday)
Bright Kids are currently unable to offer wrap around care. Current guidance states till July 4th but this will be reviewed as necessary.

21.5.20 Update Phase One Plan Letter

21st May 2020Mr Bennett

21.5.20 Update Phase One Plan Letter

Good morning,
For your information this is a copy of the letter sent to parents with children in years Nursery, Reception, Year 1 and Year 6. Phase One applies only to these children.
The letter details our plans for the possibility of reopening.
Each letter was personalised and stated the day that each child was offered to return in Phase One. See the red writing at the bottom of the page or page 3 depending on your letter.
We continue to work behind the scenes with the local authority and our governing body to ensure risk assessments are full and comprehensive.
We recognise that there will still be many questions and concerns. We will continue to communicate as best we can.
If you have questions, please comment below and we will provide answers wherever possible.
Thanks in advance

SOME POINTS TO HIGHLIGHT

  • We still do not have an opening date for Phase One. Please do not send children prior to our notice of when it will start.
  • There will be families who have some children in priority year groups whilst their other children are not. We can only take the priority children (unless key workers).
  • Key worker families will be accommodated as per the last 9 weeks and will continue to enter via the main entrance.

18.5.20 Update

18th May 2020Mr Bennett

18.5.20 Update

I hope this update finds you well.
1. Parent Pay – please ensure you keep your balance topped up if your child is accessing a school dinner which requires payment.
2. Home Learning – Class teachers have been busying creating new work packs which will be delivered towards the end of the week. Who will deliver yours this time?
3. Half term – school will be closed to ALL children over the half term week (25th – 29th May). We will reopen to our usual key worker families on Monday 1st June. The school will be deep cleaned and prepared for any potential reopening. Teachers will not set any additional work via Google Classroom and other platforms. They will not be contactable via these platforms until 1st June.
4. Phase One reopening plan – parents/guardians of children in years Nursery, Reception, One and Six will shortly be receiving a letter which details our response to the Governments plans asking schools to reopen. Please read the information carefully. We have set it out to make it as easy to understand as possible.
5. Contact – Mrs Stelling posted a comprehensive guide to how you can contact school/teachers during this difficult time. If you have other issues or concerns, I am happy to help (please tag me so I see it).
Please continue to stay safe and look after each other.

11.5.20 Update

11th May 2020Mr Bennett

11.5.20 Update

Following the announcement last night, we await the promised additional guidance from the government and Mrs Cunningham will be meeting with local authority advisors tomorrow.
Based upon the information given, we will then form a plan for the phased reopening of the school, if safe to do so, from the 1st June.
We will keep you up to date on this process and the implications of any potential reopening for reception, year 1 and year 6.
Currently, we remain open ONLY for key worker families, where keeping children at home is not possible.
Thanks for your continuing support in these challenging times.
Stay safe.
