Year 5 – Wednesday
Year 6 – Thursday

Snow-dog at Mortimer

By A Ogilvie13th October 2016

Y5 have kindly been given the opportunity to hom a ‘Snow-dog’for three days. Snow-dog ‘Gooch’ is the Nexus Dog which travels around the North East.

The children in Y5 have been donating money which will be given to the Snow-do charity, St Oswald’s Children Hospice.

Y5 have been on a ‘Snow-dog’ trail around the school, finding dogs with words and creating their own sentences. They have thoroughly enjoyed it.

Netball

By A Ogilvie19th July 2016

Thank you to all netballers who have attended weekly practices, showing a huge amount of dedication.

The A and B teams played in the South Tyneside League from January through to May. They both played superbly and represented their school really well. Both qualified for the High 5 finals. The A team came 1st and the B team came 6th.

The A team also qualified to play in the Blue Flames North East Level 3 tournament and came 5th out of all of the North East schools there- another huge achievement.

Another fantastic year!

Miss Anderson

Y5 Visit to Laygate Mosque

By A Ogilvie18th July 2016

As part of our Religious Education curriculum Year 5 have been studying Islam. To end our topic we thought it would be a great idea to visit our local mosque. Yusef, a teacher at the mosque, explained to us about what Muslims believe and showed us around the mosque. Two children enjoyed dressing in traditional Islamic clothing that men and women wear when they pray.
