Maths Competition

30th April 2015A Ogilvie

Yesterday some of our young mathematicians in year 4 took park in a maths competition using video conferencing technology.

They had to use their knowledge of all four number operations, problem solving, shape and space to work through 6 grueling rounds and competed against other schools in South Tyneside.

As always, our children showed their true skill and talent. Unfortunately they were just pipped to the post but we are very proud of their achievements.

Year 3 History Visit

30th April 2015A Ogilvie

The children from Year 3 have been to Arbeia Roman Fort as part of their history work. They explored the reconstructed buildings and had the chance to dig for real artifacts as part of the Timequest activities run by the museum staff.

They were able to see what life was like for Roman soldiers based at Arbeia nearly 2,000 years ago. As usual, the children were a credit to the school and enjoyed a really interesting visit.
