A group of Y5 children have had their first Christmas sale of bracelets and made an amazing £171 in sales.
The groups is being run as a small business enterprise. They initially put a bid together and presented to the school governors, they were granted a loan of £200 to get started. This is due for repayment at the end of the year.
The children meet each week with Mrs Smith. They frequently survey the children and decide on appropriate items which they think will be popular and then they hand make the products.
They have shown dedication and determination towards this project and we are very proud of them all.
Thank you for your generosity in supporting the children in need appeal. £725.20 was raised for this important cause.
Thank you for your wonderful support for ‘Operation Christmas Child’ appeal.
109 boxes have been collected by the regional organisers who were very appreciative and wish to express their thanks to all concerned.

Y6 had a fantastic day at Northumbria University. They were there to learn all about student life and explore their campus.
Working in small teams the children started the day with a university rep to play ice-breaker games. They then completed a number of activities including dodgeball in their multi million pound sports complex, detective games and bridge building activities and finally rounded off the day with a fun monopoly style game/hunt around the campus.
The children returned back to school enthusiastic about their day and buzzing with questions about their future.
Congratulations to some of our Y6 children who have progressed to the second round of the Young Mathematicians’ Awards.
NRICH has worked with Explore Learning since 2010 to hold the Young Mathematicians’ Award. Each year, teams of four primary children from schools across the UK take part in local events then five teams are chosen to come to NRICH headquarters in Cambridge for the final.
At each stage of the competition, teams work on an NRICH task and are judged on two things: how well they use their problem-solving skills to think like mathematicians and how well they work as a team.
The tasks are particularly challenging and are likely to seem quite different to the sorts of maths activities you might do at school in lessons.
Well done- we look forward to hearing of their success!
Y4 pupils had a fantastic day at Bede’s World to complement their history topic. They enjoyed dressing up as monks and Anglo Saxons and even made flour from home grown materials.
Miss Anderson’s class have enjoyed helping Mrs Richardson work in our new outside learning area.
The learning area is an ongoing project to develop the quadrangle in the centre of our building. Along with an open air stage and outdoor classroom the children have been helping to plant in the sensory garden and wildlife areas.
