A great day has been had in school with all year groups having fun with number work but making money for the NSPCC.
All children were invited to wear a ‘splash of green’ with their uniform and completed mathematical challenges in their year groups. These tasks ranged from class quizzes with our younger children to ‘Robot Wars’ with our older children.
A great way to make money for a very worthy charity.
We held an assembly and told all the children about Change 4 Life. We explained that it was a government initiative that promoted healthy lifestyles. We gave the children a brief overview of all the initiatives that our school does both inside and outside the curriculum connected to physical activity and healthy eating. During the assembly, the children were reminded about some of the work our Champions did last year. This included a Fun Club which our Year 4 children participated in during the Summer term and a games fortnight that all our our Year 3 children enjoyed during lunchtime. The children seemed excited that these clubs were going to be run again this year.
As well as the above, we have been working with our lunchtime supervisory staff promoting physical activity and well-being among the children. Our KS1 and KS2 children have been provided with a large selection of equipment to use during their break times. The Young Sport Leaders as well as ourselves have planned a range of activities that the children can engage in during play times.
It’s been a very busy term, here is just a snippet of the fun we have been having! Click on the links below to see even more pictures.
