Well done to Miss Anderson’s class who won the week 4 rapping fitness challenge last week. As part of this challenge they had to create and perform a rap while skipping – not an easy task!
Great dedication is being shown by all students and staff involved, only 2 weeks left so keep stepping.
Congratulations to our chess club, they have met every Tuesday for the last term and competed in an in house league.
Two leaders from our league qualified and represented Mortimer Primary School at the grand final of the league held at The Royal Grammar School in Newcastle on Saturday.
Our two competitors held their own against children from other schools and we were very proud of their efforts. Well done!
Y4 children are now at the end of week 3 of their fitness challenge. As well as stacking up the steps daily they also have to complete a weekly challenge. Last week was they had to design a game for the yard and this week they all made healthy wraps.
The challenge will continue until the end of this half term. Keep up the steps!!
Here are some more photos showing our reception children enjoying their visit to St Peter’s Church.
Y5MS had a great day at Washington Old Hall when they recently visited. This was to compliment their history topic on the Tudors.
RMP enjoyed a lovely morning visiting St Peter’s Church in Harton Village.
Reception have been learning all about lots of people who help us in the community. As part of their topic, a local lifeguard came to talk to them about how to stay safe around water and who is there to help them if they are in trouble.
The children loved the afternoon and had lots of fun trying on the lifeguard uniform and sharing their swimming stories.
