This week the musicians of the school performed in a number of concerts to share the skills they have been developing this year.

Learning a musical instrument is challenging and requires dedication, we were very proud of all of our students who shared their tallent with other pupils in the school.

VE Day Party 2018

18th July 2018A Stelling

Y6 had a fantastic VE Day style party to mark the end of their WW2 party. This week they have made Morrison shelters, learnt how to Jive, competed in ‘Welly Wanging’ competitions, marching drills, gas mask drills, spy missions and helped to prepare a feast to celebrate the end of the war.

A huge thank you to all parents and carers for dressing your children according to the time era this week, it really does help to bring our topic to life.

13th July 2018A Stelling

Over the past few weeks, 4HA have been making stress balls as part of their Virgin Money Make £5 Grow Scheme. They used a funnel to fill balloons with flour, tied them then designed emoji faces for them. They sold these,as  well as keyrings and bookmarks, to the junior children, making a profit of £141. Y4 Tennis

5th July 2018A Stelling
After a very successful tennis competition at Westoe Tennis Club in South Shields,  a team of 8 Year 4 children then went on to represent South Tyneside in the county finals in Silksworth Tennis Centre.
The 8 children competed admirably and enthusiastically playing all of their individual games in a sportsman like manner. Although they did not make  it through to the final, many individual games had a close finish and a great time was had by all of the children who took part.
Above all, the 4 girls and 4 boys who represented Mortimer Primary were excellent ambassadors for the school and every credit should be given to them.
